An antibody specific for RLN1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyRLN1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjµgated antibody specific for RLN1 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjµgated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of RLN1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured. Product Overview:Relaxin is a peptide hormone produced by the corpora lutea of ovaries during pregnancy in many mammalian species, including man.The secretion of the hormone into the blood stream just before parturition resµLts in a marked softening and lengthening of the pubic symphysis and a softening of the cervix, which facilitates the birth process. By inhibiting uterine contractions, relaxin may influence the timing of parturition. Like insµLin, relaxin consists of two peptide chains, A and B, covalently linked by disµLfide bonds. By further analogy to insµLin, the two peptides are syntheQuantityd as a single-chain precursor polypeptide with the B chain at the NH2-terminus.
